"We will have time to reach the Millenium Development Goals (...) but only if we break with business as usual. (...) It takes time to train the nurses; to build the schools and hospitals(...)
We must start now.”

The LNI operates on a ‘not-for-profit’ basis.

Sources of income are student school fees and donations.
Fees pay the wages of staff, house rent en utilities.
Donations are used for books and (medical) training equipment.

As long as there are not yet 3 full classes of fee-paying students, there is also the need for private donations to fill that gap. In 2006 there will be about 65 students, whose schoolfees pay for 75% of the school’s running costs; with a gift of 365 euro or dollar (1 euro/dollar a day), you can help fund 1 student’s first year of nursing education. All surplus funds are reinvested in the school.
